Today has been an easy going day. I took a long nap. I fixed an extra casserole and took it over to Laura. She's doing much better, btw. We went to Office Depot; I'm getting a new computer desk (so exciting! It doesn't take much to make me happy.)Afterwards, we walked next door to Petsmart and oohed and aahed over the pets we can't own. Someday, someday.
Bathed the kids, trimmed fingernails and now everyone is in their pj's. Bedtime in 30 minutes and then I have school work to do. I have to make up for last weeks post in my history class. All my posts were incredibly shallow--I was embarrassed when I realized that I was missing the obvious. I can blame my shallowness on the pain meds, but still I want to redeem myself this week. We're reading and commenting on a "1831, The Year of the Eclipse". The author has written a book all about events happening in 1831 and he did a pretty good job of it. It's an interesting US history book. Much was going on that year(and the surrounding years): Nat Turner's slave rebellion, the Trail of Tears, the religious fervor in New York (Joseph Smith is mentioned in the book, but not in a flattering way), Andrew Jackson and his presidential scandals. I'm enjoying the book, but I'm not making myself read it as often as I should. I need to buckle down on my school work this semester.
