A good day
Mar. 13th, 2010 11:11 pmI love that my husband's field of study makes for the most random moments:
Moment 1: At the doctor's office
Doctor: I see you are a student. What do you study? aside: Chris has taken to writing "student" on forms instead of "unemployed"
Chris: History, East Asian Studies.
Doctor: Eustachian Studies?!
Moment 2: In the car
Josh: Dad, can I use your iPod?
Chris: Sure (starts to hand it to Josh)...Oh wait, it's in Chinese. Let me change it back.
****Today's activities***
We watched Alice in Wonderland. It was pretty good, but I thought the 3D job wasn't that excellent. The kids all commented on that fact as well. Johnny Depp did a good job. I especially enjoyed his dancing skillz. My biggest complaint was that they used CGI horses. Why not use an actual horse? Wouldn't it be cheaper and look so much better?
Stopped of at the Gulf National Seashore, which is a bird sanctuary, to try and fulfill a cub scout requirement. We wandered the trails for quite a while and didn't see one single bird. I suppose we probably sound like a herd of elephants trampling through the palmettos. Those boys just have to run everywhere.
I bought myself a graduation gift: The Selected Works of T.S. Spivet. I've wanted this book for months, but have held off due to time and money constraints. If you have a moment, click on the link and use the "look inside feature". It is a very unique and enthralling book. I love it already. It's a treasure book.
Pearl Jam is on SNL right now. I didn't even realize they were still around. They make me feel melancholy. Still, the song is quite beautiful.
