Dec. 13th, 2007 09:59 amI'm taking Josh to the Doc this morning. He still has a low-grade fever and cough. I always feel hesitant about taking my kids to the doc on such vague symptoms, but I don't want to leave this for Chris to deal with while I'm out of town.
Yesterday Zack brought home a craft he made at school for Thanksgiving. It's a turkey with an essay on its tummy, written by Zack. Here's what he wrote:
I am thankful for my Aunt Gwen. Why am I thankful for her? Because she took me to the snow Place. And I am also thankful for my grandmom. Why? Because she let us stay with her when we had no where to stay.
This was posted in the hallway at school. Sweet Zack :) He makes it sound like we were homeless, but I guess in a way we were.
Also, yesterday Petey was so wound up. He reminded me of Daffy Duck (Woo-hoo! Woo-hoo! Woo-hoo!) Sometimes he just gets in this "mood" where he can't be quiet. He has to be making non-stop noise, mostly in the form of a tuneless song. As irritating as this "mood" is, it is also a bit fascinating because at the same time his brain is firing a million times a minute. He taught himself the concept behind multiplication tables last night. He now totally gets how to multiply. He sat at the table spouting out equations: "2x2 is 4! 3x3 is 9! 4x4 is...uh, hey! 4x4 is the same thing as 8x2!" How in the world does a first grader realize something like this? I'm just astounded. I was in 4th grade when I learned to multiply, and I don't remember ever feeling I had a sudden epiphany where I grasped the whole concept behind it.
Right now Josh is watching The Upside Down Show on Noggin. I've never seen this show before and it is cracking me up (just what I'm hearing while I type this.) It's british. That must be why its so funny :)
