Sep. 16th, 2007 08:26 amI've recently reconnected with one of my most memorable friends from high school. Keith and I were very different, in so many ways. He was outgoing and dynamic, never shy like me. He was the drum major of the band, and I loved the way he stood so confidently in front of the marching band, directing us around the field. Because of his example (and way of making it look easy) I thought I wanted to try out for drum major. Turns out I was much too silly and giggly as a 17 year old to do it. I couldn't keep a straight face as I stood at attention in front of everyone. As I sit here thinking about those years, I'm having a rush of memories. Despite our differences, we clicked in a very real way. I could talk to him in ways that I was unable to talk with anyone else at that time in my life. After high school, I knew he'd go on to do great things, and turns out I was right!
