Lijiang in March
Jul. 6th, 2007 07:55 amWhile on spring break, we went to the Yunnan province, which is famous in China for always having spring-like weather. It was beautiful the whole time we were there and we really enjoyed ourselves. This mountain is outside the city of Lijiang. We rode on cable cars to the top, watching as the terrain turned from pine scrub to snow covered boulders. There is snow on this mountain year round (glacial snow, it's called). In my right hand you can see an oxygen tank that we bought to help us breath while we were up there. We were so high that the air was quite thin and we all felt light-headed the whole time. We didn't stay up there very long, or even walk the trail because the kids were so uncomfortable. We did ride the sleds though, and that was a blast.
