(no subject)

I'm telling you guys, your prayers are literally getting us through this China adventure. I have no doubt about that at all. When we showed up at the clinic this morning, it turned out that kids do not need to go through the physical exam and blood test! What a huge, huge relief. Zack said right away "Our prayers were answered!" (He had prayed that morning that it wouldn't hurt.) The faith of a little child. When we told me that he'd prayed for that, of course I had my doubts. I know that it does hurt to have blood drawn, that is just a fact of life. Yet now, Zack's faith has been reaffirmed. Little miracles like this simply amaze me.

Chris and I, on the other hand, were subjected to an array of tests. After the blood draw, we were checked out by an ENT. Next came and EKG, followed by an ultrasound. We also had our blood pressure, weight and height recorded (Chris and I were marked down as "a little fatty", lol.)It was a little difficult because we were told to fast for the test and the boys were starving. After the medical exam was over we went to the bakery and got the boys cinnamon rolls. Yummy. Next we went to a Confucian temple. It was really neat.

The old thresholds are very high. Chris told me this was because Chinese used to believe that zombies or ghosts could only hop, and were unable to hop high enough to get over a high step. Petey tripped over a threshold and fell flat on his bottom. I scooped him up and said "Instead of tripping a zombie, they tripped a Petey!" He thought that was hilarious and kept repeating it to himself. I bought the boys all little charms with their zodiac year on it. It's fun to buy those cute little chinese souvenirs. It was a nice shopping district, and Chris and I will have to head back there one day when we are kid-free.

Ok, time to get ready for the Splash Park. I wonder what it will be like?
