What a day, what a day.

We started off with an earlier morning hike, per Zack. He has been asking me all week to take him hiking and this morning he got up, got ready to go and then stood by the bed until I got up to join him. We had a great time together and much to Zack's great joy, we counted 21 lizards. My favorite part about the walk was that it rained last night, so all the trails had been smoothed over. Our footprints were the first on the trail since the rail. I love making virgin footprints :)

When I came home, it was time to focus on Petey. He is running a low-grade fever. He just finished his anti-biotics for strep throat on Tuesday. Not only does he have a fever, but he also has a rash again. We've already been to the dr. and back. She did a throat culture and thankfully (!!) it came back negative. He simply has a virus. I'm so glad we don't have to do medicine again. I had to cancel three play dates for the next couple days. That was a bummer, because one of them was on Friday afternoon and Chris and I were planning a movie date. Ah, well. such is life. We'll try again next weekend.

After the dr. visit, I dropped the van at the auto shop to get the A/C fixed. I called Chris and asked him to come pick Petey and I up at McDonalds, which is right next to the auto shop. Petey and I enjoyed some time together while we ate our ice cream cones.

Now that I've spent one-on-one time with Zack and Petey, Connor needs some time too. I'm going to color with him right now. Oh, that reminds me, as I was painting my toenails this morning, he came up and asked me to paint his. I did. Chris got upset about it. I knew he would. This is the evil wife in me. Of course, when they came to pick me up at McDonalds and Connor was wearing flip-flops with his pretty pink toenails showing for the world to see, I could suddenly see Chris' side of things very clearly :)

The auto shop called. The A/C will cost $1800 to fix.

Yeah, not gonna do it. We can survive, no matter how miserable, 7 more weeks without A/C in the van.

I'm watching "So You Think You Can Dance" on Fox, and one of the male contestants who made it into the final 20 is a Mormon.

I suspected it as soon as I heard him say "Oh my Gosh" (he just had that Utah inflection), but then I saw he had a CTR ring on his finger. Mormon children are given a CTR ring when they are 5 years old to remind them to always Choose The Right. When he started talking about going on a two year mission for his church, yup, I knew he was definitly Mormon.

Not that I'm one to normally follow reality shows too closely, and certainly not one to call and vote or whatever, but I just may have to follow him and see how he does.

Coolness.
