Jan. 23rd, 2006 10:15 pmI typed a nice long entry earlier today while Connor sat on my lap. He started playing with the mouse and *click*-the whole entry disappeared. I was too disgusted to re-type it then. So here is the short version:
I volunteered at Petey's school today. It was fun playing with him, and seeing him at school with all his friends. One of the girls, Cyndal, was having a serious discussion with him about how they should marry each other when they grow up. His teacher told me how much everyone likes him, how smart he is, etc. Seriously, he is a very likable kid. Why does he drive me bonkers, then? We went to the Mall this evening to buy me some good, super supportive athletic shoes (birthday present from MIL, thanks!) and he was just pinging off the walls. He stood in front of a mirror and just yelled at himself (in a playful way). What is up with that kid?
We had the carpets cleaned today. They look so much better. Hopefully, we can keep it clean for quite a while but I won't keep my fingers crossed. I have decided that someday when we own our own house we will have hardwood floors, or maybe tile. No carpeting in the main living area. With three boys, it just does not stay clean, no matter what extreme measures I take. For example, this evening I gave all three boys a string cheese for their bedtime snack. Before I knew what was happening, Petey was throwing his across the room onto the floor (he's always playing with food as if it is a toy. He especially loves to throw fruit around.) He went to bed without a snack.
We ate at the Olive Garden tonight. Ok, I confess that my diet has been on "vacation" for the last three days. It started gradually, but today I was almost back to my normal atrocious eating habits. I meet with the dietitian Wednesday.
