I just finished taking my last exam of the semester. Hooray! I'm so glad I'm not taking classes over the summer. It seemed like a good idea initially, but I know that I need the time off. I've already reserved several books at the library, and am going today to pick up three: "The Nanny Diaries", "On the Road", and "The Once and Future King". I still have to finish "Pride and Prejudice". I'm at the best part now, where Elizabeth starts to realize that she does love Darcy. I may read some more Jane Austen this summer. So many books, so little time. I know once classes start back in the fall, I will have no time for leisurely reading. I hardly can fit in my book club read, much less anything extra.
Besides reading my summer away, I also want to do some scrapbooking. I haven't decided if I'm going to take supplies with me when we fly home this summer or not. It may be fun to do with some of my sisters while I'm visiting. Then again, it seems the time flies by when I'm home. There's always so much to do. I plan on visiting with
blackie_fox, my Melissa, and I'd also like to go up to Tuskegee. After learning about Booker T. Washington this semester, I'd really like to see the historical sights at Tuskegee. Its only a couple hours from my parents house, so we could make it a nice little day trip. I'll also be going to Waycross to visit my very pregnant sister. Not to mention spending time on the beautiful beaches in Fort Walton and Destin. Summertime is here!!!
I made a recipe out of my new "Mitford" cookbook. I had some bananas that were going brown, so I made a batch of banana bread. It turned out pretty good and made a yummy breakfast for the boys.
I made an A- on my Lakota Woman paper. He still hasn't graded my Vietnam paper, though. I'm sure he can see it for the bad job that it was. Ah well, who cares...the semester is over!
