How do you feel about professor's assigning readings which they themselves have written? What about articles that heavily feature them and their achievements?

My management professor assigns his own text. Which I don't mind because I agree with everything he says. I don't think he's tooting his own horn - there just isn't much out there on the topic that reflects what he's trying to teach.

If they're trying to be high and mighty, that bugs me. LOOK AT ME. I WIN AT PROFESSING! I couldn't get down with that..

The article isn't by her, but it talks about her achievements. It doesn't focus on them as the main thesis...still, it does seem a bit odd.
