I think my twelve year old self would be happy because I have everything I wanted when I was 12: a husband I love, kids, a dog (pets were very important to me at that age.) I certainly didn't have the perspective at 12 to think about money woes, so the fact that we are in dire financial straits wouldn't have even registered on my radar. To a certain degree, I wish I could view my life from that carefree, innocent girl's perspective. I'd probably be much more content with how I turned out.

I'm not sure what I would think of myself then. I guess I'd feel good that the kids who tormented me would turn out to be human when they grew up.

I'm often surprised as well to realize how "normal" some of those kids turned out as they became adults.
