Think you have mad web searching skillz? Here's your chance to prove it!

My last day at work was pleasant. Much to my surprise, I was given a $50 gift card to the Olive Garden as a thank-you, sorry-to-see-you-go gift. Roger emphasized that temps are not usually given such parting gifts, so please don't go spreading it around to the other temps. I was just so surprised! I only worked there for not-quite three months. Roger said they just wanted to let me know how much they appreciated my hard work and reliability. That's me, Steady Eddie :)

The fun coincidence is that I had hired a sitter for last night and we got to go and use the gift card right away. Since it was for $50, we went whole hog (ha!) Appetizers, main course, dessert. Yummy. We had a couple hours between dinner and when the movie started so we strolled around Target and shopped for Zack's birthday. He turns 10 in two weeks. I remember how significant it felt to me when I turned ten. It's a two digit number, after years of being a single digit, lol! I got a twelve speed bike for my 10th birthday and I loved it. Zack wants the new Sypro game, so that's what we got him, along with a super Mario long sleeve T-shirt, and a small star wars lego set. The kids know if they ask for a video game they can't expect to get much else.

The movie we went to see was Ghost Town. I really enjoyed it. All in all, yesterday was wonderful. I'm so glad to be done working. Woot!!

So someone DID notice all the dedication and hard work!!

I just finished the kids' Christmas shopping yesterday -- oh, I am so glad that's done. The crowds were horrible! Just a few more to go, and I can sit back and enjoy.

The only thing I've done towards Christmas shopping is think about it. Not one gift has been bought :) Kudos to you for getting it done so early!!

What a neat surprise!

Double digits were a big deal for me, too. That and turning 13.

Thirteen was big for me too because you were officially a teenager! However, my most anticipated birthday was by far my 16th. I wasn't allowed to date until I turned 16 and I literally counted down the years from the time I was 10 (the year a boy asked me out for the first time.) Every year until I turned 16 was simply another step closer to the big one-six.
