We're here and getting settled in. I'm not sure what to think of Caldwell. It reminds me of a kid who grew too fast one summer and now none of his clothes fit. In other words, there has been huge growth here but the city still has the infrastructure of a small town. For example, there are four-way stops everywhere instead of traffic lights. It's clear that they are trying to catch up to the growth, but they have a long way to go. Also, this is still a big farming community. Today when we were wandering around the quaint downtown, there was a strong "farm" smell in the air. Our neighborhood is surrounded by corn fields, wheat fields and what I suspect are beet fields. I've not lived in a town this small since I moved away from Alabama ten years ago. It's going to take some getting used to.

I have a lot more to write, but I hardly know where to start right now. I think I'll just leave you with some pics which I snapped from the car. There aren't anything spectacular, but they'll give you an idea of what Caldwell looks like.

I took this to show how Caldwell is full of all these brand new neighborhoods, snuggled up next to farm fields.

That's similar to where we live. I think once you get settled in, you're going to fall in love with it. Will you be living in a development or in town?

This description is so apt, according to your pictures. I am getting to be less and less of a country girl, but I hope you learn to love the area. At least til your next move! ;) I am sure there are pros to be found of any area, if you look hard enough!

Caldwell, hugh?

I had no idea you guys were moving to such a country place. Life should slow down this year. The pace of those places has that effect I think. It's good to see you guys made the shift okay. Hope all goes well there and it's a great year.
