Happy Mother's Day!

Petey wrote a poem for me:

Mom, Mom
I love Mom.
Makes me dinner
buys me toys
Mom, Mom
I love Mom.

Zack also wrote a poem for me:

My Mom

She likes turtes
She brought me to see Dragon Wars
on her birthday she brought us
to a zoo. And got us gifts.
She is the best mom you could
have in the history of today.

Josh (and Chris) bought me a wooden bead necklace with a large heart on it and a card that sings "You are my Sunshine." He said Josh picked both those things out himself :)

The funniest part of the day was Zack's homemade gift from class. The whole class colored paper tea pots and copied a poem inside to accompany the teabag that was the gift. Zack didn't want to give me a teabag, because he knows I don't drink tea. So, here is how he modified the poem (I'll italize his bit)

Here's a gift for Mother's Day
I'll try my best in every way
but when you get upset with me
relax and go play the Wii

Isn't that awesome!!? I'm one lucky mommy. Also, Chris had to speak at church today and he said--in front of the whole congregation--that when I'm not home it's like the sun has gone behind a cloud. When I'm home, the whole house feels brighter and warmer. He said a lot more, but it was that bit that touched me the most and made me get teary-eyed.

Tears were appropriate...they welled up in my eyes for you. You are a lovely family.

Such good kids! I love Zack's modified poem. I think that's even better than drinking tea.
