Huh?

I took Josh to get his haircut this morning and while he was sitting in the chair the conversation amongst the cosmetologists took a turn towards the morning news. One of the women was quite in a tizy about the announcement that the Duggar
family
is pregnant with their 18th child. The beautician just kept going on and on about how CRAZY that was, etc. The others were joining in, but I just sat there listening. I was thinking Who are you to judge how they choose to live their lives? They don't ask you to pay for those kids! but I'd like to think my face wasn't betraying my thoughts. Suddenly, Josh's beautician turns to me and asks if I'm LDS. I answer "Yes. How did you know that?" My mind is racing, trying to figure out what about me says "I"M LDS". I don't have any make up on, which some people mistakenly think is part of our religion, but isn't. I just didn't have time this morning. I'm wearing jeans and a button up top, nothing a non-LDS person wouldn't wear. I don't have on a CTR ring, I don't have several kids in tow; I have no idea what tipped her off.

When I confirmed that yes, I was LDS, she said "Don't you believe that you'll have children in the spirit world after this life?" Ooo-kay, deep doctrine blind-siding me out of nowhere! After a pause to collect my thoughts I said "Yes, that's true." She said "I could just not imagine being pregnant for eternity!" *deep breath* I gave a polite laugh and said "I view it more as a spiritual process than a physical one. I don't think the physical pains that we associate with our earthly life will be a concern." That seemed so satisfy her and she dropped the subject.

Oh my, what a way to start the day.

I had this whole thing typed out and then hit a button and the browser window closed. Oh well.

You're right - who are we to judge? She seems to love having babies all the time. So, you know, who am I to say that it's wrong? It's not like she's being "made to" have all these babies. Whenever I watch a show about them she is always over-joyed with her large family. You can tell she absolutely loves each and every one of her children.

I just worry about her health. Our uteruses are only good for so long before having too many children can start to actually hurt us. Its the reason my mom could only have me. Her body just couldn't handle another baby. Doctors said it would kill her to have another. But then again, maybe Mrs. Duggar has a super uterus! Super Uterus Woman!

The only thing that bugs me, really, about this whole thing...her hair. I hate, hate, hate her hair. Not the length, those awful bangs! Please someone give this woman a make-over! Her daughters are beautiful and the boys are all very handsome. But what is going on with her bangs!

Oh, Wendi, you're so bad!

lol, I never thought much about her hair! I'm sure her doctor keeps tabs on the status of her uterus :) My friend Dora is one of 16 kids, and her mom comes from a family of 22! Isn't that amazing?

I bet she would look good if her bangs were just left down and not fixed. El naturale!

Oh I think so - wow, those bangs are awful.

What *I* don't get is how she can still want to have sex after having 17 kids. lol

I live within 20 miles of them. I think it's interesting that I find out they are pregnant again from my online friends on el jay instead of the local news. I'm sure they were on and I missed it, but I still find it interesting.

And like Wendi and Brandi said, her hair annoys me. If she is going to wear it long, do something different periodically. Something.

I think I first heard about them via your livejournal. Yeah, her hair is a bit annoying, but I guess I assumed it was part of her faith. I wonder if she would go in for a make over if someone offered her one?

Seriously. I figured it was long for a reason, but change it up. There's lots of stuff to do with long hair. Straighten. Color. Different 'dos. SOMETHING! :)
