Dear man-who-cut-through-my-neighborhood-to-avoid-construction-traffic,

I understand why you cut through. Traffic is horrid. I realize this. However, this does not give you the right to SPEED through a neighborhood full of children, and then HONK at me because I foiled your short cut plan. Forgive me for being cautious about cutting across four lanes of rush hour traffic. In the future, just stay out of my neighborhood, or drive through it the same way you would your own.

Thank you.

Dear woman-on-your-cell-phone,

At first, I found it comical that you turned onto a blocked off, construction-filled street because you were too busy talking on your cell to notice. But then, when you didn't hang up, and proceeded to try and maneuver back into the busy intersection with only one hand, I became alarmed. Please, just hang up the phone for a few minutes so you can drive with both hands, thus no longer endangering your life and all those trying to safely pass through the intersection. Oh wait...doesn't Spokane have a law about that? Right, we do! And you, dear lady, are the perfect example of why we need it.

Thank you.

You must live on the north side. I heard the construction traffic is bad up there. I can't remember if it was last summer or the one before that, but some guy shot another guy because he was speeding through his neighborhood to avoid the construction. Scary!

Oh my goodness! I haven't felt like resorting to guns, but I have wanted to yell at these fools speeding through. Unfortunately our street is just one street over from a main road. Grrr. Yeah, we live on the north side. I wish they would just do one construction project at a time, not two or three!

Whoa! Several times I had to make sure I was reading your journal! *lol* Go Miss Snarky Snarkpants! I love it! If we ever, ever live in the same town again (maybe?) we can stand on busy street corners with signs saying, "Hang Up and Drive! Keep Our Children Safe!"

I really want one of those Shut Up and Drive or Hang Up and Drive bumper stickers for my car. I hate seeing people try to talk and drive at the same time. You just can't do it. Not well.
