Masterpeice Theater on PBS is currently showing Complete Jane Austen. To say that every Sunday evening I am in a blissful place is the understatement of the year. Next week they'll be showing Mansfield Park and guess who is the star!? Rose from Dr. Who!! Now, if possible, I'm doubly excited for next Sunday.

Chris and I gave our "China" presentation tonight. It went really well. I felt calm and collected and was able to speak smoothly without too many "umms." We only had about 12 people there but that was just perfect. Also, they felt comfortable asking questions and we had a great Q&A session. One church lady came up to me afterwards and asked if we'd be willing to speak to the Stake single adults. So, we may have another speaking engagement coming up soon. We shall see. It was really good for me to do this because it gave me a chance to look for the good in my China experience. I was able to think about and search for the blessings that I got out of living there.

We've been having a lot (and I mean a WAY lot) of sibling rivalry lately. I hate it. I need to figure out a way to lessen it.

Crap... I was just watching one of those Jane A. pieces last night, and I can't remember which one it was. I fell asleep. Ah well.

I will say that the majority of the time, I enjoy those.

Chris always grumbles initially when I turn them on, but usually he laughs and enjoys them just as much, if not more, than I do.

With nothing new on TV lately, aside from reality or game shows, it is nice to have the Jane Austen shows to look forward too :)

Mike likes Masterpiece theater too whether or not he'd admit it. Silly man *lol*.

I'm considering giving up TV for Lent. There's nothing good on but then I remember that Battlestar Gallactica should be starting sometime soon. I wonder if it's during Lent...

Are you going to watch Lost?

I've been thinking about giving it up too. Do you remember that when I was about 14-15 we didn't have a tv? Or was I younger...I'm not sure. Anyway, for about a year we had no tv. My parents just put it away in the closet. I often was clueless at school when people were discussing the latest shows (The Fresh Prince of Bel Air comes to mind) but honestly I didn't miss it very much. I recently read an article about a family who gave up their tv. The author was the mom of the family and she said that suddenly she had time to do all the projects she thought she never had time to get to. I guess with the writers on strike and nothing really new on, it seems easier to just turn it off. Also, I hate how often Zack wants to turn on the tv. It's always his first instinct. First thing in the morning, first thing when he gets home from school, right after dinner, etc. I wonder how he'd survive with out the TV.

Mike is the same way with the TV. If I stay home from work I sometimes purposely keep the TV off. He'll come home and regardless of whether or not I want it on or off he'll immediately turn it on.

I don't know about LOST. It doesn't seem to actually be going anywhere. Sort of stagnant. Let's introduce more characters and more questions but not really tell you anything that's going on. That and the whole wait almost a year to start a new season and give us 20 minute of show and 40 minutes of commercials. I just kind of wonder do the writers even know what the story is any more? Is it even going to make any sense once it does end? Or is it going to be truly anti-climatic?

I dunno...I watch LOST begrudgingly. I'm not really into Heroes too much anymore. Seems like I could do without that one. I like the show, I think it's awesome, but on the other hand...I have no real ties to it. The only show I am totally wrapped up in is Battlestar Gallactica.

I think it would be really hard to give up tv completely because of our apartment. There is no place for me to go except the bathroom to get away from it's noise. I can't wait until this summer and we can get a bigger place.

Maybe y'all could become inspirational speakers on the side. And I'm sure you didn't say "um" that much. I tried to count how many times one of my sunday school teachers said it and I lost count at about 40.

40 times!! That would be very distracting. I'm not sure how much of an "inspiration" our speaking is, but we do our best. Chris talked about in 1921 when David O McKay dedicated China. That aspect of the presentation was really inspirational. I'm glad he included it.

YAY! Sorry that I couldn't think of anything in particular to remind you about. I just thought your entire experience was absolutely amazing.

I'm so excited that your talk went well. I would love to have sat in on the talk.

I totally forgot about the Jane Austen thing! I really wanted to watch last night's show. I just completely forgot about it. I love Rose from Dr. Who. Remind me about next Sunday okay?

'k, I'll do my best to remind you. I wish you could've seen last night. It was sooo good. I liked how...modern-ly it was done. People stood closer to each other, touched each other more intimately and more familiarly. The dancing was even slightly suggestive. It was a different spin on Jane Austen and I loved it.
