My State Park is on fire. Chris saw a news banner flash across the TV screen that Catalina State Park had 10 acre fire. That is only 5 miles from our house, so we jumped in the car and drove up to take a look. We parked just inside the turn off and took a few pictures. None of them turned out well because it was already dark.

Catalina State park is where I hike at least once a week. It is the park where I first discovered my love of hiking. I really hope the fire doesn't destroy the whole park. This is a tragedy -- especially because there is no doubt that this was caused by human carelessness. I certainly hope it wasn't arson.

Laura brought a dish of homemade cinnamon rolls over tonight. Oh, they are so dang yummy. I've eaten two. And I loved every bite.

Petey had a carnival on his last day of school. He had his face painted for the first time. He had a very difficult time waiting in line. He kept bopping in and out of line because he was so anxious to get it done. The women doing the painting only knew how to do rainbows and flowers, but he insisted on a spider. He loved it.
