My latest book:

Lucia, Lucia by Adriana Trigiani

I enjoyed this novel despite the fact that I had a hard time relating to the main character. Lucia is a career girl growing up in New York post WW2. She works in the custom fashion department of an upscale department store and she loves beautiful clothes. The author spends lots of words describing - in detail - various character's outfits, which I found a little tedious. She loves being a career girl and isn't willing to give it up for her traditional Italian fiancé. She later falls in love with an uptown man and finds herself in the middle of a "sizzling scandal" (as the book cover puts it.) I would recommend this book.

I know some people who love nice clothing and styles ([livejournal.com profile] blackie_fox) would appreciate this book much more than I did. I guess I'm more of a comfort girl than a stylish one. Its not that I don't appreciate beautiful clothing, I just don't have the 'eye' for it that Lucia did in the novel. Nowadays, I'm lucky if I can get out of the house in a clean shirt, much less one that is fashionable :)

Too late....I already bought a suit with a skirt attached. It is a tankini, though. I plan on getting a sarong, too. Can never cover up too much! The suit I got is pretty cute. The bottom is black and the top is light aqua-ish with black trim. I ended up getting it at Sears. I need something sturdy, since the boys want to go swimming almost everyday.

That sounds cool. Those tankinis are really cute.
