We just got back from watching STAR WARS! It was just as good as I expected, maybe even better. I had not allowed myself to watch many previews, or even watch the video game as my husband was playing it. I wanted to be totally surprised. Also, I didn't want to build up certain expectations and be disappointed, as I tend to do with these highly anticipated films. Wow, it was just so good. Annikan's seduction to the dark side is excellently done. I did have a headache at the end from all the light saber flashing. It was almost like a strobe light. I'm really glad that I didn't take the kids. Not only was it long, but it was pretty brutal. Of course, I expected Annikan to get pretty messed up to have to put on the Darth Vader suit, but I was still surprised by how harsh it really was. Ok, that's it. I won't say anymore. I don't want to spoil it for anyone.

what about the fact that anakin, playedby Haydin Christianson , was 6 inches too SHORT TO PLAY THE ROLL!!!! That. more than anytinng things else, ruined the movie for me. It was less Darth Vadar and more Darth Vadar's younger 15 year old cousin. but maybe that i jsut me.

*lol* you're right. I had always imagined that Darth Vader was much older when he became a sith. The shortness factor did occur to me but one could make the argument that (spoiler alert!!!) his prosthetic legs added several inches to his height. Was the whole movie ruined for you?

the thing with the prostetic legs is that it's still Christianson in the suit, so the height difference is still very knowtive able. while it didn't ruin the whole movie for me, its one of several things that i didn't really like. Mostly it was the plot and story of the movie, it unfolded alternatly too slow and too fast, seeming more like an excuse to move from one fight scene to another, than as a way to develop the characters. oh well, life goes on

I also noticed that the movie seemed to drag and then rush. I guess the height difference didn't bother me, but what I did notice was how drastically different his body language was. Ah well, despite all that I still enjoyed it a lot.
