Chris took Petey to the doc today and came home with an inhaler. Pete had RSV as an infant and as a result (I assume the two are related) often has a hard time shaking off colds/coughs. They just seem to settle in his chest. This cough has been hanging around for almost three weeks, and has gotten much worse in just the past few days. It's to the point where I hate going out in public with him because I feel like a horrible mother. People shy away from the kid trying to hack up his lungs. So now he's on an inhaler and steriods. Hopefully he'll be feeling back to normal soon.

I don't know if the two are related or not. My son had RSV, it wasn't a bad case but he had it. He tends to hand colds just fine but my daughter who didn't have it has a terrible time shaking colds. she just had that exact same thing done to her on Friday. Steroids (for 3 days),antibiotics, and an inhaler. She is doing a lot better now.

hope Petey feels better soon.

I'm glad to know he's feeling better. Has he been on steriods before? The steroids might make him hungrier than usual. When I pneumonia and was on steroids I couldn't stop eating. It's a pretty normal side-effect from some types of steriods, at least for adults, but I don't know about kids.
