Thank you for all your kind replies. I'm sure it is too early to determine if the police department will offer to help pay for the dog's medical bills. That's horrible!!!

I hope Buddy is all right and that the police department will do the right thing and not just help with the bills, but pay all of them.

Okay, so the dog runs away after he gets kicked and yet the police officer still shoots him? Is the police kidding? Omgosh, this is so awful. Ben and Rebekah can call the local humane society, the local shelters, anything to get support.
