Am I completely unpatriotic because I'm not upset that Chicago didn't get the Olympics? To be totally honest, I feel that the US hosts the olympics more than our fair share. I'm hoping Rio gets it. First Olympics ever in South America? That seems pretty monumental to me.

Yes, you are totally unpatriotic. Why don't you move to Canada, you fascist!

Actually, I'm glad Chicago didn't get it. Not that I have anything against Chicago. I served my mission there, so I have a special place in my heart for the city. It's a cool city. But the U.S. just had 1996 and 2002; it's not our turn again yet.

I was happy Rio got it. It's time for South America to finally have a chance. Although my officemate and I had a conversation that made me think Madrid might have been fun. He asked if that's where they did the running of the bulls. I said yes and then realized that could have made for really cool opening ceremonies. "Uh oh, looks like Team Ukraine was just taken out by the bulls! Team Canada better run faster if they want to make it to the actual competition part of the Olympics!"

I'm glad I'm not the only one who felt that way. I agree with you. We've had it here quite often and it is a worldwide activity. Let's share the love. It was so awesome to see how excited everyone in Rio was!
