My brother in law just sent me a link to a website that gives the correct translation of Chinese and Japanese characters as used in the West. For example, he tells people what their tattoos really say. It's quite entertaining. Chris has been telling me for years that people walk around with nonsense on their shirts, but how are we to know?

It's sort of the answer to the Engrish website. Fun stuff :)

This post made me laugh!! My husband came home one day all proud cause he got the name Melissa in Chinese on his arm, and I was all "dude, that probably says "whoa I am a big dumb ass"
Well fast forward to a year later and we meet this chinese man and he see that tat and says and points to it and says "Melissa"

holy crap, I love that blog. Stealing that link.

I've wanted to get something (tattoo) in Kanji for years, but have always run across different translations of words I wanted, and found so many different versions of them, that I just stayed away.

When I did find a real Japanese translation dictionary, most of the words I wanted, I didn't like the symbols for.
