I thought Max was barking at the mailman, but he didn't stop barking after the mailman left. A few minutes later and he's still barking.
He was barking at the sound the tomato soup made as it boiled over onto the stove. For some reason, I can never remember that I'm making soup (when I make soup, that is.) He was trying to tell me something odd was going on in the kitchen. He's like some kind of squish-faced Lassie!

1) doors are closed (that cat has a really jones for needing doors open)
2) some invisible something is roaming about the house
3) his dish is empty and needs to be filled - and then he walks away
4) he needs some love
