a short visual update

Our trip began with a trek across the barren lands of southern Idaho and northern Utah. Fortunately I was in the rest stop when this massive tumbleweed came barreling towards me. If I'd seen this thing on the highway, I might just have freaked out.

I didn't realize how sparsely populated this stretch of interstate would be. It's gets a little creepy to watch the gas gauge inching slowly towards "E" while passing exit after exit with no services. Still, it was quite beautiful and I did enjoy the scenery.

Patty's dog, Marcus. Aren't his eyes beautiful? He's about 80 times bigger than Max (who I really miss, btw.)

Patty took us to see 101 Dalmatians put on by the children's acting group. It was so cute (SO cute.) We had front row seats (see below) and my kids had no problem paying attention. The constant singing and dancing really kept their attention.

Patty also took us to visit her horses, Molly and Lacey. Josh had no fear and it freaked me out to see him so close to that horse's mouth.

Petey loved the horses too.

A horse with blue eyes. I've never seen this before, it was pretty cool.
