Not-so-bad-in-the-grand-scheme-of-things news

And it turns out that my sinus infection that was really an ear infection is in actuality an abscessed tooth.

I went to the dentist today for a couple of fillings and I told him about the face pain as well as the swelling of my gums (I didn't telly you guys this part. My swollen gum actually "popped" and I had to spit out some yucky white stuff.) He tested my upper right back molar with some sort of electrical device. I didn't feel a thing, which he said means the tooth is dead. If it had any nerve left, I'd have felt a tingling with the electrical probe. *sigh*. I've never had a root canal and I dread it. I DREAD IT.

Not to mention the cost. Thankfully we have really good insurance, but even with that I'm dropping a cool $500.

And there goes the first chunk of the income tax refund. I wonder what will be next. C'mon, start lining up, all you unexpected-expenses. I know you're out there! Let's just get this over with.

Take it from an old pro (I've had many root canals)--it's not too fun, but it wasn't the worst either. You'll live. Yeah, the expense tends to be the bummer. Sorry...hope it's not a trend. You know--some people say that when you have tooth problems it's a sign a baby will be conceived--hmmmmmm.

Oh ugh!! I'm so sorry!

That always seems to happen to me. There are two months in the year where I get an "extra" paycheck and I will plan for months in advance what I want to spend it on. Maybe I'll break down and buy an iPod or I need some new shoes or I'd like to get pampered at a day spa. But then something medical happens and I get a $200 bill or something goes wrong with my car and I get a $300 bill. It never fails!!

Let's talk unexpected expenses for awhile because I feel like 2009 is going to be the year that the debt we've paid off will once again be back on our hands.

1) The new diagnosis and all it's medical expenses is really hard to budget right now. Which is driving Mike insane. PT is $25 a week, twice a week for four to six weeks.

2) My computer is about to kick the bucket which means I won't have a computer at home. That's $600

3) I have GOT to get my wisdom teeth removed. They are driving me nuts. My teeth hurt. Sometimes, not all the time, but sometimes. Even with our insurance it's going to be something like 1,500 bucks.

I hope that's it. I mean, seriously, what the heck? In this economy the last thing I need is more stuff to break and have to replace.
