The newest Star Trek movie teaser

The temperature was 3 degrees this morning when I took the boys to school. Zack asked me what would happen if it got to 1 degree. He was shocked to learn it could actually get below zero. It actually hurts my hand to touch metal, such as the knob on my screen door.

Yesterday: I was the mom helper at Josh's school and we had the missionaries over for dinner. We had meatball subs. They loved it.

Today: I'm the mom helper in Zack's class and the boys' have a bingo night at their school.

Also, I signed the two older boys up as members of the Boys and Girls club. Chris says it is just the ghetto version of the YMCA, but I disagree. Zack's going to be in the basketball league and Petey was super excited to learn that they have weekly cooking class as well as a huge room devoted only to arts and crafts. I think the kids will really enjoy it.

I've been daydreaming lately about going to the South for Spring Break. It would be heavenly to spend some time on a warm Florida beach.

Sounds like Petey is going to have a lot of fun. Wow, he's into cooking and crafting? He'll be the next Food Network Star! He can have his own tv show at 15.

Are you suggesting what I think you're suggesting?!

Kidding, I'm kidding...

He'd actually make an awesome TV personality, IMHO :)

*lol* What?! I realized that Duff from "Ace of Cakes" is TOTALLY all male and he's a cake baker. But you can tell he was one of those kids that liked arts and crafts. He started in art school and then moved into baking. Now he's got a hugely successful bakery in Baltimore AND his own television show on Food Network. You should totally check him out. Here's the last bit from his bio: In addition to owning and operating Charm City Cakes, Duff is also a sculptor, artist, and musician - he plays bass in the indie instrumental band "so I had to..." (www.soihadto.com) and is an all around good guy with the cleanest hands in town.

Now doesn't that sound like Petey? Seriously, go check out Duff's website and look at the amazing cakes he and his crew make. Some of them revolve. Like, the cakes have actual moving parts. Totally Petey. http://www.charmcitycakes.com/index2.html

The boys and I had a great time on that website. What a talent that guy has. I've seen his show before, and you're right he is a man's man. Also, Anthony Bourdain comes to mind as a man's man who loves to cook. Honestly, I was just teasing you :) If he's into cooking, art, whatever, I want to encourage him in his interests and help him do the best he can.

*lol* I know you were teasing me, it's automatically the first thing most people think when they hear that a boy is talented in the arts. My cousin was petrified because one of his boys was dancing around at one of my theater rehearsals. Turns out the kid is an amazingly talented singer. He has solos in school plays and I doubt he's gay. But if he is, he get big love from his cousin Wendi.

The site is fun, I was hoping you guys would check it out. Can you imagine trying to make some of those things? I love the Until Death Do Us Part cake. I wonder if I can get someone to make one similar to that for me for my 11th anniversary?
