The boys spent all day yesterday at their cousins' house. The older two boys even spent the night there. Chris and I had a very quiet day and it was wonderful :) Because of our seclusion in China, it has been almost a year since the kids were invited over to another kids' house. Isn't that sad? We went to pick up Josh around 8 pm and the other kids were just having a ball. They weren't missing us at all, lol.

So, what did Chris and I do with our freedom? We went to see The Bourne Ultimatum and thoroughly enjoyed it. I had my doubts about Matt Damon making a good Cpt. Kirk. After seeing him yesterday, I think he could do it justice after all. Next we spent some quiet time at home just doing whatever we wanted. I packed for about an hour. We plan on leaving for Spokane either Tuesday or Wednesday. It's going to take me that long to find all our stuff that we've scattered into every corner of this house. We also swung by the library to look for audio books for our trip, but I didn't see any that I wanted. While I was at the library, Chris walked over to Plus skateboard shop to visit his buddies. He grew up at this shop, first hanging out there and then working there for several years. Today the shop had it's 20th anniversary celebration and had a several pro skaters there for the event. After I finished at the library I walked over to meet him, but it turns out we missed the demonstrations and everything was just about cleaned up. Lastly we went out to dinner with MIL, step-FIL and Kevin. It was quiet and enjoyable.

I rented a documentary to watch last night, The Beauty Academy of Kabul. Since I just finished reading a book about Afghanistan (A Thousand Splendid Suns, excellent book!) I thought it would be interesting to see this film. It is amazing what these women have survived. It certainly puts my own life into perspective.

What's this about Matt Damon being Capt. Kirk?

Their are rumors rumbling about the internet that in the next Star Trek movie (yet to begin filming) Matt Damon will play Cpt. Kirk and his old pal Ben Aflack will play Mr. Spock. What do you think?

I like the idea of that guy much better than Ben Afflack. I think Sylar looks a bit like Spock :)
