Zack's reading

Zack is doing such an awesome job learning to read. He had a really tough time in the beginning. We were both getting frustrated. I got a wonderful self help book on teaching your child to read. Now, he is really getting the hang of it. I am so proud of him. He has come really far. Just now we were reveiwing his sight words. This is a list of about 20 words that he gets tested on at school every semester. At the beginning of the year he could only read 2 words ("A" and "I"). The second semester he could read four(a, I, red & one). Today he knew them all, except "eight" and "purple" (and who can blame him? Those words defy every reading law known!)But also, he's developed confidence in his ability. In the beginning he was so frustrated. He would end up crying with each attempt. Today, even though he couldn't sound out "purple", he gave it his best shot and came up with "podulegance."

Bill leaves today. Next week I am going to clear out all the toys from the boys room (every last one!) and we are going to greatly simply our toy supply. It is ridiculous how many toys they have.

Well, I hear Pete saying he is throwing jelly beans at Zack. Guess I better see what they are up to...

podulegance is a huge word, and I have no idea what it means *lol* I hope he keeps it up! Yay Zack!

Seems like you have your house back and I know that will be helpful in getting on track with a healthy menu. I have just been kind of out of it this weekend; kind of floating back and forth between reality and depression and just not caring. I plan to go back to aquasize tomorrow night, though. I think if any thing will get me out of the doldrums it will be that. My stepson, Mark, is in the new Bishopric; wish I could have spared some energy for staying through all three hours of church today and witnessed his setting apart, afterwards. You say Connor was throwing jelly beans at who? Guess Easter is next week, right?!

Pete was throwing jelly beans at Zack. Connor was toddling around behind them picking them up. I went out there to see what was going on, and there was a trail of jelly beans through the kitchen, living room and dining room.
