(no subject)
Just finished with Petey's parent/teacher conference. He's kicking butt with his grades. Woo-hoo! Remember all those benchmarks that they wanted him to bring up before they'd consider him for the gifted class? He's passing them all with flying colors. I know Petey's trying really hard because he wants to be in the gifted class. I'm so proud of him.
I also talked to her about the bullying problem. She said (a) that she has several parents that she's going to be talking with about this problem during the parent/teacher conferences (b) that she knows of one particular recess duty-person who is not doing a good job. She and several other teachers are planning to talk to the principal about the problem and (c) she reassured Petey that he could tell her any time that he felt like a problem wasn't being addressed by the duty person. I do feel better after talking to her. Hopefully things will continue to improve.
I got to help with Petey's Valentine's day party. This is the first time I've volunteered at this school. What a change from last year when I volunteered weekly! It was so cute to see Petey going from person to person asking "So, are you having a good time at the party?" He was like the host or something. He's so funny.
