Petey's fever remained high all day long, even though I gave him alternating doses of Tylenol and Motrin. I finally broke down and took him to Urgent Care (pediatrics had no openings) and turns out he has:

-allergies
-a cold/bronchial inflammation
-an ear infection

Poor kid! The funny thing is that he's still so chatty. On the way to the doctor's office he just talked, talked, talked. I responded in the appropriate places with a "uh-huh" and "really?" but mostly he needs an outlet for all that information buzzing around in his head. It's almost like when he reads a book at school, once he's processed it, he has to regurgitate it. Thanks to this little quirk of his, I've recently learned more than I ever wanted to know about head lice. Why does his teacher have a book on head lice anyway?

The doctor was surprised that Petey knew what a uvula was :) He's now on antibiotics, decongestant and a nasal spray. He did not like the nasal spray one bit. I hate stuffing him full of so much medicine but I'll do it if it will help him feel better.
