Last minute preparations
As you may notice, we stayed up quite late packing. I'll just chalk it up to trying to get my internal clock back on China time. Jet lag, what a wondrous thing, hmmm?
We were able to get all our things packed! I thought that perhaps we had accumulated too much stuff. My wonderful MIL and BIL both let us borrow luggage. Of course, the irony is that we have a closet full of empty luggage at home :) We did pack two empty suitcases on our way here, but it just wasn't enough. We still haven't made our Wal-Mart run, to stock up on the necessities that we can't get in China. Twizzlers, Lucky Charms and Kraft Mac n Cheese. As usual, most of our luggage is composed of books. I feel certain we will be shipping stuff home instead of trying to take it on the plane, when we make our final trek home. I stocked up on lots of kids and home schooling books. I found several great science books. This is Zack and Petey's favorite subject and we haven't studied it at all! That is about to change. Wow, this paragraph is mighty rambly. Sorry about that.
Chris and I took MIL and hubby to dinner tonight at our favorite Mexican place. After dinner we came home to discover that my wonderful MIL had called all the local siblings to come over and have cake in honor of my birthday! I cannot lie, I love birthday attention. That's right, I'll be 32 on Monday. 32.
I had my hair highlighted today. I love it. I also bought a grey pea coat, about thigh length. Hopefully that will keep me warm in the damp cold that surrounds Nanjing. I really have enjoyed this beautiful weather while we've been here. It couldn't have been more lovely.
Ok. Tomorrow we start back. It's going to be better this time, you'll see. Much, much better.
