So much for a deep restful sleep last night. Petey woke up twice, and Connor slept in our bed.

As a result, I had wacky, frustrating dreams about airports. I kept repeatedly dreaming that I was trying to catch a flight and I just couldn't. The first time, I left my laptop in the restroom and was freaking out when someone stole it. The second time I was late to the airport. There was a third and fourth time, even. Over and over I tried to catch the plane and I just couldn't. I felt befuddled and exhausted when I woke up. Usually, I am one to stay in bed as long as possibble. Not this morning, though. I was so ready to get up and quite dreaming about missed airplanes.

I have one week until my next appointment with the dietitian. If I am to stick to the goal I set for myself, I need to lose 5 lbs. before that appointment. Perhaps a little unrealistic, but I'm going to try. I have already exercised this morning and will hopefully get in a second set this evening. We shall see...

I started listening to "The Good Earth" last night. What an awesome book.

It rained today! What a wonderful feeling of relief, to smell the dampness in the air and have a grey overcast sky.

Unfortunately, I now have a barometer headache. I haven't had one of these since, oh...last time it rained. Over 60 days ago.

Ouch.

After all that complaining, I need to redeem myself a bit. We had a magnificent double rainbow this evening, right above our house. It was simply magical. It was actually a full arch, seeming to touch the ground on both ends. I would have had to drive a few miles away to have been able to capture the whole thing in one picture, that's how huge it was. As it was, I just walked across the street and did the best I could. The first rain we've had in two months (literally) and we are blessed with such a spectacle.

I also let the boys jump in rain puddles today. They loved it.
